Nakoma Golf Resort

Nakoma Golf Resort

While the Nakoma Golf Resort might not be one of the first places that comes to mind when pondering a golf trip, perhaps it should be.

Located just an hour from Lake Tahoe nestled away in California’s Lost Sierra, the resort not only offers guests a true escape from the everyday hum drum of life but does so with such style and attention to detail that you may never want to leave.

With the Sierra Nevada mountains watching over the resort and the beautiful Feather River flowing by, Nakoma is an outdoor lover’s paradise featuring horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, boating, camping, and 18 holes of championship caliber golf at the Dragon Golf Course.
In addition, the resort recently opened the Altitude Recreation Center, an incredible 12,000 sq. ft. facility offering a fitness room, children’s center, rock climbing wall, lap pool, hot tubs, and conference space.

Wind down or recharge with a treatment at the resort’s full-service Nakoma Spa which offers body treatments, massages, facials, and spa tubs

Nakoma guests are made to feel right at home in the resort’s 42 fully-equipped Lodge rooms which feature air conditioning, 48-inch flat-screen TV’s, pillowtop beds, complimentary WiFi, and refrigerators.

Experience fine dining with a local and regional flavor at the Wigwam Room restaurant, or a low key but delicious meal at FLoW Bar & Lounge or the Marketplace.

The par-72, 7,015-yard Robin Nelson-designed Dragon Golf Course sits high above the Feather River which affords this mountain course some truly incredible views. The course, which offers several risk-reward opportunities, has been worked on extensively in recent years to provide an optimal golfing experience for golfers of all abilities including offering five sets of tees.

At the center of the resort sits the truly remarkable Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Nakoma Clubhouse, for which the resort was named.

Nakoma offers an overnight stay and pay package for $350 per person, double occupancy which includes: one night for two in the Lodge, one round of golf, golf cart, and range balls
