The K Club

The K Club is home to two Arnold Palmer-designed championship golf courses which have hosted the 2006 Ryder Cup, the 2016 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, and the European Open from 1995 to 2007.

The par-72, 7,350-yard Palmer Course, also known as the Ryder Cup course, feels distinctively American parkland in appearance with relatively generous fairways, lots of water, and large greens that are well cared for and roll true.

The course plays long but fair. The par-5 16th, known as Inis Mor, stretches out to nearly 600 yards and is well-protected by trees, water, and bunkers. If you successfully land your tee shot in the fairway, the real trick is in the decision to go for the green in two. The fairway runs along the River Liffey and the green is actually on the far side of the river creating a forced carry to a green protected by two large bunkers.

The par-72, 7,300-yard Smurfit Course is often described as an inland links course and justly so as the design is purposely meant to provide a distinctly different experience than the Palmer Course. The course features dune type mounding and dramatic terrain with natural plants such as gorse left to grow naturally and providing the course with a very natural feel to it.

The K Club offers some great stay and play packages including the Golf and More, Golfer’s Dream Experience, and His and Hers which all feature accommodations and golf for the number of nights selected, full Irish breakfast, and a four-course dinner at the Byerley Turk. The His and Hers deal adds an 80-minute daydream delight spa treatment per person.
