Pros Use Crazy Phrases At Players As Part Of Fallon Bit

If you were watching the wall-to-wall coverage of The Players Championship earlier this week from TPC Sawgrass, you may have been left scratching your head at a few answers you heard from some of professional golf’s top stars.

Swing it and ding it? Smack it, attack it, swing it like a racket? A catfish is right twice a day?

Turns out, golf’s biggest names were enlisted by “The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon to find ways to use bizarre and hilarious snippets into their interviews during a segment called “Drop It In.”

Unbeknownst to fans or media, the likes of Adam Scott, Justin Thomas, Brooks Koepka, Webb Simpson and Tiger Woods, among others, were able to seemlessly “drop in” a few off-the-wall phrases without sounding completely ridiculous.

It’s hard to say which was the best drop, but the opening bit about Adam Scott skipping a scouting trip to Augusta National in favor of going to a Reba McEntire concert is pretty strong.

Similarly, Tiger Woods speaking about seeing Tony Danza in the stands-a, who he apparently hasn’t seen in years, was a nice change of pace in the occasionally-mundane pre-round interviews.
