2014 U.S. Open: Best Day 4 Style

As per usual, with the golf season’s second major comes another fantastic chance to see what the leading apparel companies have up their sleeves. Their players are getting more TV time, and playing in front of larger audiences, so the stakes are raised not only for the athletes but the clothiers as well.

Here’s who wore their Sunday best for the final round of the U.S. Open:

Kevin Na – PGA Tour Apparel Pro Series
Kevin Na seemed like he might have a shot to shock the world for a little bit on Saturday, but like everyone else, he was just playing for second on Sunday. Na came out in what seems to be his traditional Sunday garb, dressed head-to-toe in green PGA Tour Apparel Pro series gear with white accents. Perhaps the outfit has something to do with his recent success? Na finished T-12 in the U.S. Open just a couple weeks after finishing runner-up at the Memorial.

Rickie Fowler – PUMA
It’s no surprise that Rickie Fowler has found himself receiving accolades for his choice in wardrobe. Everyone knows by now that OSU Cowboy orange on Sunday is a Fowler tradition and it was cool to see the ever-popular Fowler in the final group of the U.S. Open. This time around, he brightened up the outfit with white accents and horizontal stripes on his Puma polo.

Erik Compton – Hugo Boss
Erik Compton’s performance came as a pleasant surprise to nearly everyone this week at Pinehurst … except, maybe Erik Compton. The two-time heart transplant recipient hit the course in a plain red Hugo Boss polo and black slacks, giving his outfit choice a very “Tiger Woods” feel for Sunday. Perhaps he was thinking “Victory Red” when he put it on, perhaps he wasn’t. Either way, Compton looked nearly as sharp as he played.

Francesco Molinari – Nike
Francesco Molinari may not have been contending on Sunday at the U.S. Open, finishing 6-over in a tie for 23rd, but he did stand out on the course in at least one fashion … fashion. His bright yellow Nike performance polo could have probably been seen from space and this isn’t the first time Molinari has made one of our “best dressed” lists.

Jimmy Walker – iliac Golf
Jimmy Walker has certainly stood out on the course this year with his play, winning three times in eight starts to begin the season, but this week he stood out thanks to his unique wardrobe provided by iliac Golf. Walker looked sharp, showing some patriotism in America’s championship, highlighting his all black outfit with red, white and blue stripes.
