ECCO is a leading manufacturer of innovative golf shoes, including the ones Els will compete in starting in 2014, featuring the award-winning E-DTS outsole. According to Els, ECCO has “struck on the winning formula.”
“They make shoes that look great, are incredibly comfortable, can be worn almost anywhere and offer the kind of stability a guy like me really needs on the course,” said Els.
Since 1963, ECCO shoes are anchored in functionality, quality and craftsmanship on the platform of Scandinavian design and along with Els, are worn by tour stars like Graeme McDowell, Thomas Bjorn, Fred Couples and many more.
According to a press release, the 44-year-old South African will be featured in global marketing and advertising initiatives supporting the ECCO Golf Collection as part of the agreement, along with competing in the shoes and sporting the logos.
Els has won 70 tournaments world-wide over the course of his career and has made an impact off the course through charitable work and contributions through his Els for Autism Foundation.
