Today we’re talking about how you can save some money by replacing the soft spikes on your golf shoes and giving them a bit of a wash. Instead of just throwing those shoes in the trash after a few months, go out and buy some new spikes and a spike tool and get to work.
Using the prongs on the tool, push down on the spike and turn it to the left to loosen the worn down spike. Be mindful of your spikes throughout your usage of the shoes because if you wait too long, you’ll need to come up with more creative ways to extricate that stripped spike.
When you’ve removed the old spikes, simply put the new ones into the open slots and use the tool to tighten them by twisting to the right. You’ll hear a few clicks just like when you adjust your driver that will let you know that your new spikes are good to go.
Regular maintenance of your shoes will also allow you to clean them using soap and some warm water. You can take it to the next level by buying some shoe cleaner, but soap and water can get the job done with regularity.
