6. Bernhard Langer’s Anchoring Question

Bernhard Langer’s dominance on the course was only matched in 2017 by the discussion his altered broomstick putter grip cause off it. Langer — and to a lesser degree, Scott McCarron — were the subject of rumbles among golfers the world over for their putter grips. Both insisted — and by almost all accounts — that they didn’t anchor; instead, they moved the butt of the putter away from their sternums.
