9. TPC Sawgrass Becomes Borderline Unfair
During the first two days of the Players Championship, scores were unusually low. Jason Day was even a record 15-under after 36 holes were played. TPC Sawgrass panicked and overreacted big time on the third day. Pin positions were outrageously difficult and the greens were given a new buzzcut. Kevin Chappell referred to the putting surfaces as “dead” and “bald.” Third round scoring average was more than three strokes over par and seven players failed to break 80.
