9. Phil Mickelson
One of the most head-scratching stats in professional golf in the last five years is that Tiger Woods has won more recently on the PGA Tour than Phil Mickelson (Woods – 2013 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, Mickelson – 2013 Open Championship) despite Mickelson’s well-documented longevity. So, why is he in our top-10 this week? Simply put, it feels like a Phil week.
Always one for flair, Mickelson will be teeing it up in his 100th major championship this week. His course form at Quail Hollow is tough to beat as well. He’s finished in the top-10 nine times in his last 13 starts at Quail and has never missed a cut over that stretch.
