Hale Irwin – 1984 Bing Crosby National Pro-Am
Hale Irwin shot off the rocks during the 1984 Bing Crosby National Pro-Am was one of the luckier bounces in golf history. Trailing by one heading into the par-5 18th, Irwin hooked his drive into the Pacific Ocean but his ball miraculously careened off the rocks and back onto the fairway. He would go on to make birdie and ultimately win in a playoff.
