Lanny Wadkins – 1977 PGA Championship
Lanny Wadkins victory at the 1977 PGA Championship didn’t come without a little drama. After 72 holes, he was tied with Gene Littler which meant the first ever sudden death playoff in a stroke-play major. Wadkins fended off Littler on the third playoff hole to claim his only major.
