3. Rickie Fowler
Could it finally be Rickie Fowler’s time? The last six major champions have been first-time winners and with the exception of the blip on the radar in the form of a missed cut at St. Jude last week, Fowler’s form has been trending in the right direction. A long hitter and good putter of the ball, Fowler needs to avoid the big numbers that have derailed him throughout his career.
Erin Hills provides a great opportunity for Fowler, but there’s enough trouble lurking that one wayward swing could do enough damage to cost the aggressive player to a solid plodder.
