7. Sammy Schmitz
In the final round of the 2015 U.S. Mid-Amateur, 35 year old Schmitz found himself up 2 strokes with four holes to play in the 36 hole match. He stood on the tee box of the 260-yard par 4 16th looking to secure a victory. He absolutely striped a driver a tad left of the flag, but luck was on his side that day. The ball slowly rolled along the undulating green and dropped straight into the cup for an ace.
