Coming down the stretch at the season’s final major, Jimmy Walker went birdie-birdie on 10 and 11 to take a two-stroke lead through 12 and there was no turning back. He had to battle mostly against a sopping-wet golf course and one of the toughest fields in golf. Walker shot a final round 67 to edge Jason Day by one earning him his first major victory.
