Dustin Johnson’s first major victory did not come without controversy. On the fifth hole during the final round, Johnson’s ball moved on the green, but it was deemed accidental and therefore was not assessed a penalty. It was not until seven holes when he was informed that a stroke could be added to his score at the end of the day. It ultimately was, but Johnson played beautifully on the back nine to have enough insurance that it did not end up affecting the outcome.
