Hi, I’m Jason Baile, Director of Instruction here at Jupiter Hills Club, and today we’re going to talk about your fairway finder.
So Davis Lamb is with me. Davis is a great player. He likes to hit a high draw normally off the tee. When he gets into a spot of bother, he really needs to find a fairway, we’ve got a fairway finder that we use.
We tee the ball a little lower, we open up the baseline a little bit, so instead of being square on the ball, we open up the baseline slightly to the left, tee the ball a little bit lower, and we just swing along the line of the body.
When that happens, the ball launches a little lower and it has a little bit of a cut look to it. We do sacrifice a little bit of distance with that shot, but we also find more fairways when we do it.
So Davis, show us how it’s done.
Ball’s teed lower, Davis will now open up the baseline a little bit allowing his chest and his lower body to go that way. Now you can make his normal swing along his body line.
So that ball launched a lot lower than normal for Davis, but it had a little bit of appeal cut back to it, found the fairway really nicely.
If you need to get a ball in the fairway develop your own fairway finder with just simple changes in your setup or tee height.
