The idea that you’re supposed to accelerate through the putt, to me, is illogical because that would mean you’re accelerating after the ball has already left the clubface. If you think of your stroke as a pendulum, maximum acceleration is happening at the start of the downswing. Using two tees set up as a modified gate that won’t let your putter release more than a quarter-inch past impact, you’ll get the feeling and sensation that the follow-through is not an integral part of the stroke, and you’ll lose the urge to surge.
"Prior to discussing my putting with Stan, I was struggling badly. What he told me in just a few minutes meant more to me than what anyone had ever told me in regards to my stroke. Stan has a great knowledge of the game and a wonderful way of getting his message across."
