Here’s an excellent drill to get players to feel impact. With the impact position, we want to feel a bowed left wrist and a bent right wrist.

Making a few swings and feeling the golf club hit the top of a bunker will stop the club and allow the hands to feel the correct impact position. If I throw this club away too early, I’m going to hit the sand behind this bunker face and the sand is going to go flying up. To feel the correct forward shaft lean, left hand or right-hand position, this golf club stops right in this bunker but if I was to throw it you can see the sand comes flying out and you can see that my right hand is going under my left and released this club too early. Allow that club to get stuck in the top of the bunker and your hands will be in a good impact position.
