A lot of my students believe that it will help them to chip and pitch if they have a big, long follow-through, but the truth is when you watch a good chipper they finish low and short with the clubhead.
You don’t need to raise the clubhead up because the ball is already gone. If you were to watch me pitch, you would see that the clubhead did not swing past the ball; instead, I simply turn the clubhead past the ball. The release of the club happens into impact, then you catch up to the club with your body and rotate through the shot.
