When we’re loading in the backswing, it’s really important that our trailside is extending and our butt is working back behind us. Our pelvis is an ellipse, so we’re trying to load back with our lower body as we’re extending and then get our upper body back behind the ball.

There’s a big advantage to having a bigger and higher arc. This allows us to create more clubhead speed via linear travel of the clubhead. If you really want to power this driver, get some extension and width in your backswing with height, and from there you’re in a great position to be able to explode in the downswing.
