Everybody is kind of scared of the first tee. I’ve got a couple of tips that will help you take over those scared moments that we all get. The first thing to understand is I don’t care if it’s me or Tiger Woods or you, everybody is nervous on the first tee. It’s just our body getting ready to compete and play. Look at your playing partners and think “you know what, he’s more nervous than me”. That will help calm you.
If your first ball gets tied up, let’s work around that. Understand the golf ball will fit out there. It’s just a little ball and this big playing field. The easy way to get the ball going where you want it to go is to make sure the spot you pick out in front of you to aim along, the ball goes over that spot. The second thing to remember is when you get up there to hit the ball, get up there and hit it. Don’t get up there and freeze like a statue and get stuck.
Let’s get those first-hole nerves down, hit better shots, then your confidence will go up, and those scores down.
