Hitting the ball in the center of the club requires a better path into the ball, which starts with a better backswing plane. Using train track alignment rods, stand with your feet slightly narrow, ball off your left ear and with your hands slightly ahead of the ball.
The narrow stance will prevent you from shifting your weight off of the ball. Begin by taking short swings. Turning around a centered spine will allow you to come back to the ball consistently every time. This will improve the plane in the backswing and the path in the downswing.
