Tour players always try to hit their short irons a little lower and their long irons a little higher in order to get the ball to react on the green the way they want it to. 

Making a few slight adjustments in your setup — ball position half a ball forward and slightly raise the lead hip — you can make your normal swing and launch the ball higher.
