It doesn’t matter whether you’re going to an instructor, watching something online or reading about it in a book or magazine, golf instruction is based around drills, but sometimes the best drill is simply doing something the right way. If that’s the case, you have to do it really slow.
If you do something at normal speed, you’ll tend to do it the way you know, not what you’re trying to change. Using a pitching wedge and making slow position to position movements, I like to have players feel the weight shift to their trail leg in the takeaway and load back into the front foot at the top of the swing.
