The Basics Of The Golf Grip

When it comes to gripping the club at its most basic levels, we want to feel our top hand naturally gripping the club as it would hang by bringing our hand in front of us. Our bottom hand should have our thumb pinched in against pointer finger, feeling as though you’re putting the cup that’s been formed on the inside of your hand on top of your lead hand.

It’s important that you feel as if you’re applying a lot of pressure to the club with the fingers on your top hand and more pressure with the heel pad of the lower hand. These basics allow for a firm grip on the club, but an ease of motion throughout the arms and shoulders so that you can make a free and powerful swing.
