The Secret To Hitting An Uphill Bunker Shot

A lot of you, when you get into a bunker and you have an uphill bunker shot, you start to panic because you think you’re going to hit the ball thin and way over the green.

Here’s a couple of keys that you need to think about. Number one, you need to aim a little bit right of the flag.

You want to keep your weight left, and you want to press down. Now you’re still going to come into the sand, but what I want you to do is just feel like you’re going to take a shallow a divot.

And you want to keep your weight forward and you don’t want your head to come up. As soon as your head comes up, that’s when you’re going to hit a thin so you want to go through the sand.

Again, aim right, open the face slightly set the club, make an L and now turn through. And you can see here my right heel stays flat on the ground.

So let me demonstrate for you right now.

Because say you have an uphill, your bunker shot you have to accelerate through because the ball will go higher and softer and land on the green.

Remember, set up right, weight left and keep accelerating through. Use the sand to get the ball out of the bunker. Work on it, get good at it and enjoy the shot.
