It’s interesting how bunkers tend to give lots of players issues, yet when you see a Tour player or a strong amateur player, these are some of their favorite shots. I believe this is because of the task that the player’s mind sees when they are in a bunker.
Oftentimes, my students hit well behind the ball, which results in adequate shots, but not shots that bite very well.
Practice hitting closer to the ball by grounding your club to create a reference point for yourself that is less than an inch behind the ball, and turn this weakness in your game into a strength.
