Here we have a situation where we have to hit a low draw onto a green. So it’s another fantastic way to practice controlling the shaping of a shot and also the distance you want to hit the ball.
The first step for me is always to visualize the shot. Once you visualize the shot, now you can walk in and think okay, first of all, I need to close the face, put the ball slightly back in my stance, put my weight left so I can finish low and then swing in-to-out with a low club face through the ball
So now what you’re gonna do is you’re gonna take the club back shorter, follow through and feel the shot, keeping the clubface low through the ball.
The more you want to hook the ball, the more you shut the face and the more you swing in-to-out.
This is a great way for you to practice a shot because a lot of players out there hit a ball into an area like this and need to really shape the ball and this will give them the feel that they can do it each and every time.
I recommend those of you at home, really go out on your range and practice certain shots that you might get on the golf course. Because you can take a double bogey and turn it into a par. So practice it and you’re going to see a difference in your score.
