Hi, I’m Jason Baile, Director of Instruction here at Jupiter Hills Club. I’m going to show you one of my favorite short pitching drills.
I’ve got an alignment stick here right where the golf ball would be. And I’m going to focus on getting my right side past the alignment stick just like I would in a simple toss. So when I rehearse, I want to make sure my right side, right hip, right knee and right shoulder finish towards the target with all my energy going in that direction.
I’m going to maintain this little bit of flex that I have in my trail arm and see if I can maintain that the entire way through the swing, so my right side is delivering the shot, no different than a toss.
As I went through that, I maintain the flex and my right arm, stayed bent the entire way through and I made sure that my entire right side gave the energy to the ball to get it to the target.
These are no different than just short tosses like you would in cornhole, so make sure you have that acceleration and that energy going towards the target always if you want to improve your short shots around the green.
