WATCH: Make More Putts Inside 10 Feet

For the high price of $5 or $6, you can buy yourself a metal yardstick at your local hardware store and it’s the greatest putting aid I think that you can have to help you make a lot more putts inside of 10 feet.

If you do the math on it, if I roll a ball that stays on the ruler for all 36 inches falls off the end, I’ve started that putt within one degree of perfect… within one degree of perfect. If we’re starting all those putts inside of 10 feet if we have good speed they’re going in.

So what I’d like you to do in the offseason, on a rainy day or even better, just on a regular basis is get in the habit of hitting five or 10 putts on the ruler on a regular basis and you’ll start to understand how good you’re getting if you’re making seven out of 10, eight out of 10.

Like I said, now you’re really rolling the ball on line, and you’re going to make an awful lot of putts from 10 feet.

I wouldn’t spend an hour doing it but do five or 10 in a row. If it stays on the ruler all the way to the end, you hit a perfect putt and out on the golf course, they’re gonna go in.
