Matty Blake Addresses The ‘Tiger Hecklers’

Tiger Woods withdrew Thursday from the Farmers Insurance Open after just 11 holes with a back injury. 

Woods grimaced in pain and grabbed his lower back with each full swing he made before finally deciding to pull out of the event before teeing off on the 12th hole. 

Before leaving the course, Woods told Todd Lewis of  the Golf Channel that he felt “loose and ready to go,” but that after the hour and a half delay due to fog, his back became tight. Because of that, Tiger said his “glutes wouldn’t fire,” which led to pain in his lower back causing the withdrawal.

At the time of the withdrawal, Woods was 2-over for the round. It’s the third withdrawal for Tiger in his last eight starts.
