Golf is a social sport, and we think it’s fun to share golf experiences; the good, the bad, and the ugly. Partnering with our friends at gottaGolf (The Ball Tracer & Social Golf App), SxS is proud to bring you “Golf Fails brought to you by gottaGolf,” a weekly reminder that golf is… really hard.
There’s nothing quite like having a wide-open space to bomb a driver into. Whether you’re playing a course with an overly-generous fairway or you’re at lake or beach house like our friend above, there’s something freeing about being able to grip it and rip it.
Of course, when you’re ready to swing free, you should probably make sure there isn’t a protruding bulkhead in front of you that could act as Mother Nature’s bodyguard.
Everything in this clip sets the man with the driver up to fail. Clearly, this was a staged production gone terribly wrong. We can tell because our golfer waits for the camera to begin rolling before giving his half-hearted “Fore!” call. Then, his less-than-pro style swing was another sure-fire sign that something was going to go wrong.
Luckily, it appeared as if the ball ricocheted and hit him in the leg, a much more fortunate fate than what could have occurred. It’s probably best next time to tee it a little bit higher, or better yet, hit a wedge.
