The European Tour’s annual stop at Gary Player Country Club in South Africa for the NedBank Challenge usually brings some of the best nature-meets-golf pictures of the year and 2017 hasn’t been a disappointment.
With the golf course situated next to nature reserve, it’s not uncommon to see the kind of wildlife usually reserved for National Geographic or Planet Earth documentaries roaming the fairways in Sun City. While the pros have had multiple encounters over the years, Joost Luiten may have taken the cake for most pick-up worthy.
During a practice round this week, Luiten posted the below video of a unique spectator…
As if the big crocodile wasn’t close enough, Luiten then posted an update as the croc decided Luiten’s ball was a good place to rest its head.
Other adventures with animals at Gary Player CC included a cobra and mongoose standoff…
…and Ian Poulter playing with and feeding monkeys.
Had an audience interested in my bag of nuts today on the range. Monkey business so much fun.. @SunCityResortSA @golfatsun pic.twitter.com/BE27ARWqYI
