Daly Swears Off Walmart After Bad Experience

John Daly and retail behemoth, Walmart, are a match made in hog heaven, literally.

Both Daly and Walmart call Arkansas home, and the two enjoyed a long and prosperous history together… until Tuesday night.

Daly, who has long extolled the virtues of the world’s largest company by revenue as well as the world’s largest employer, has been a customer and supplier to the stores, having sold his signature line of clothing, his eponymous video game and golf balls in the stores as recently as 2017.

He also frequented the stores as a shopper, making multiple references to it on social media over the years.

That relationship ended poorly this week, however, as a nightmare trip to the store near his home resulted in Daly having to use a self-checkout station for “over 100 items” as a result of only one checkout lane being open.

“I will never step foot into #Walmart again!” Daly wrote on Twitter, including hashtags that described his experience.

It’s never good to see two American institutions like Daly and Walmart at odds, but as’s Dylan Dethier astutely pointed out, Walmart’s headquarters in Bentonville are only a few hours away from Daly’s home in Dardanelle.
