Entering his final season, Derek Jeter was bound to receive a boatload of gifts, much like Mariano Rivera a season ago. Sure enough, Jeter’s been given everything from a New York subway tile to a Yankees-pinstriped surfboard. How he’ll use all these gifts, or where he’ll keep them, remains a mystery.
In April, the Houston Astros gave the Hall of Fame-bound shortstop a set of golf clubs and cowboy boots, setting the stage for Jeter’s year-long farewell tour. The PGA of America decided Wednesday night that one set of clubs wasn’t enough, however.
Before the Yankees squared off against the Oakland Athletics, PGA of America officials, led by President Ted Bishop, presented Jeter with a set of clubs and a custom PGA golf bag.

The PGA of America was founded in New York in 1916, so it was only fitting to return home and give Jeter a gift of its own. Now that he has two set of golf clubs (and I’m sure a few more of his own), Jeter should never be without a set of sticks after retiring from baseball.
