Golf is a social sport, and we think it’s fun to share golf experiences; the good, the bad, and the ugly. Partnering with our friends at gottaGolf (The Ball Tracer & Social Golf App), SxS is proud to bring you “Golf Fails brought to you by gottaGolf,” a weekly reminder that golf is… really hard.
NOTE: Video contains some strong language.
Scrambles with your buddies are some of the best places to see bizarre golf shots. When the pressure of playing your own ball and posting a score has been taken out of the equation and the introduction of a few more libations than normal, things can get interesting.
Free-swinging golfers can be much better players than they are normally, but overswinging during a team event often produces the crazy bounces. Case in point, the example above. Neither the water in front of the tee nor the bridge that leads over it should be in play, but sometimes the stars align and you pull-neck a driver that only gets a few inches off the ground.
Typically, that would result with you going ball in pocket until the next shot, but for the golfer above, he channeled his inner shortstop, got in front of the returning ball and had it back on the tee only seconds after it left the clubface. When that happens, it’s a free mulligan, no mater what.
