Not all arcs are created equal. Wedge Wednesday with my guy @kevin_chappell. On the left pitching off the green with a narrower arc & open face producing a higher shot with steeper land angle. A little more shallowing with the shaft in the downswing to help facilitate the outcome. Yes it requires dexterity & skilz! Note ⚠️ without enough pivot rotation on these you can miss short right! On the right is a wider arc with a squarer face & more pivot rotation for a lower shot with predictable spin. This shot has a higher margin for error & with some face roll in the backswing to add loft can still produce higher softer shots. This has more a cut feel for most people with their body aka rotating more with the body. Both arcs can be very effective for the appropriate shot! The artistic mastery of the shortgame is all about 📖 the lie and selecting the shot with the highest positive outcome probability! The world’s best players do this instinctively from experience!
