Hancock Golf Course has a rich history as the former Austin Country Club. Nowadays, however, the municipal course has come upon some hard times; so much so, in fact, that the Austin’s Parks and Recreation Department has implemented pay-to-play automated payment machines for rounds played Monday-Thursday.

According to KXAN, the pro shop is open Friday-Sunday when the course makes the majority of its revenue, but for golfers in the area, there’s a bargain to be had.
Golfers in the area can stop by the automated pay machine, input their $15 walking fee and play as many holes as their heart desires. For a course that seems to be a low priority for the area, it can be a gold mine for the frugal golfer.
