Houston Golf Course Creatively Saves Cart Fleet

Planning for a natural disaster is essential to saving your most precious possessions. For one Texas golf course, it was their carts and maintenance equipment that they were worried about saving.

While damage from Hurricane Harvey continues to be assessed in the area, The Wilderness at Lake Jackson in Houston, which sits just off the Gulf of Mexico, fell victim to the rising flood waters, but somehow managed to save their golf cart fleet and maintenance equipment with some ingenious planning by some of the folks on their staff:

Being that they knew their course would inevitably flood, they used their knowledge of the topography of the land to save millions of dollars in equipment. One tee box became the life raft for several of their maintenance trucks, while a different spot on the course became a parking lot for their cart fleet.

This grounds crew deserves a lot more than a raise!  If you’d like to contribute to the ongoing relief effort, donate to the Red Cross here.
