Memorial Day is next weekend, a much-needed time to honor those who serve our country. And the PGA of America wants to show its support at the 75th Senior PGA Championship, but it needs your help.
All you have to do is go to PGASalutes.com and upload a photo of yourself or a picture of a fallen loved one, and the PGA of America will include it in a photographic mosaic to be displayed behind the first tee during the Senior PGA Championship, May 20-25 at Harbor Shores in Benton Harbor, Mich. For every picture that’s uploaded to the site, the PGA of America will contribute $1 (up to $25,000) to PGA REACH, the organization’s charitable foundation.
“Each Memorial Day we pause to honor those who served in uniform and valiantly defended our nation,” said PGA of America President Ted Bishop. “The PGA of America and PGA REACH encourage golf fans everywhere to heighten that tribute through this unique online mosaic. The affection for our heroes grows deeper with the years, and we find it significant the role that golf plays in brightening the spirits of those veterans with us today.”
The money generated through this effort will help PGA REACH assist in the physical, mental and social rehabilitation of military veterans. The group aims to help our nation’s heroes take part in the game of golf and be active, which in turn boosts their mental, social, physical and emotional state of being.
