Donaldson Keeps Tour Card, Walks into Pool

Jamie Donaldson has had a difficult last few years. Since rising to No. 23 in the Official World Golf Rankings and earning the decisive point in the 2014 Ryder Cup, Donaldson has battled injury and dips in form, which led him to what amounted to be a do-or-die event this week in Spain.

Needing a high finish to secure his European Tour card for next season, a third-round 64 propelled the Welshman to a fourth-place finish, which was good enough to move him inside the top-100 in the Race to Duabi. After the event with his card no longer in jeopardy, Donaldson celebrated his job security with a unique celebration.

Of course, Donaldson is no stranger to a good celebration or even taking in a few libations, as he proved following that great Ryder Cup performance in 2014.

Donaldson appeared to have made good on his hashtag promise to “get hammered” as evidenced by a tweet he sent out on Monday morning.
