Kelley Attempts “The Hideki Challenge”

Hideki Matsuayama has one of the most unique swings in all of golf. His patented pause at the top has been the source of conversation since he burst onto the scene over a decade ago. While many instructors preach the benefits of swinging with a pause at the top to work on weight shift and sequencing, the teachers stop short of having their students incorporate the move into their on-course swings.

With that in mind, SwingU instructor Josh Kelley decided to put conventional wisdom to the test and take Hideki’s swing to the course. The challenge was to see if he can play three holes in even par or better with the exaggerated Hideki pause at the back of every swing — driver through putter. Check out the video above to see if Kelley was able to accomplish the feat.
