Party City: 3 Super Bowl Parties To Hit This Week

The Super Bowl is enough reason to party in its own right but when you put the big game in the same time and place as golf’s biggest party, you’ve got the recipe for one of the most epic weeks imaginable for sports fans.

Starting Wednesday afternoon and running straight up to kickoff between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks, the greater Scottsdale/Glendale/Phoenix area will be the most hopping place on the planet.

If you’re lucky enough to be in town this week, there are plenty of party options, so you’ll have to choose wisely. Here’s a look at the must-hit parties of Phoenix Open/Super Bowl week in Arizona:

DIRECTV Super Fan Fest

The DIRECTV Super Fan Fest is easily the biggest party in the area for one reason – it runs all week. Wednesday through Saturday, DIRECTV hosts a party every night at Pendergast Family Farm, with different stars showing up each night and performances throughout the week from the Zac Brown Band, Jason Derulo, Calvin Harris, Rihanna, Snoop Dogg and Imagine Dragons.

Prices range for $200 a person to $1,100 for admission, so if you plan on going all week you better have some serious scratch to spare. That being said, where else can you go from watching a golf tournament in the morning to seeing all these acts at night while you get pumped up for the big game on Sunday? Nowhere. That’s where.

Super Bowl Playboy Party

Ah, the name says it all. If you’ve got the means, I highly recommend checking out the Playboy Super Bowl Party. Seriously – how could you go wrong? Never mind that admission is $825 a person (with VIP rates well over $1,000), money shouldn’t be an object when it comes to having the best week of your life.

The Playboy Super Bowl Party will happen Friday night at 10pm at the W Scottsdale Hotel and is hosted by Nelly. As you might expect, there will be an open bar, free gourmet food and appearances by celebrities and – wait for it – playmates!

Obviously, the sticker price is a bit much, but how many times in your life are you going to be able to say, “yeah, I was at a Playboy party,” and how many times will that story make all your other friends jealous? Two words: Worth. It.

Official NFL Super Bowl Tailgate Party or DIRECTV Super Sunday Tailgate Party

For your Sunday, you’ve really got two options, and it really comes down to this: How big of a “baller” are you?

If you’ve got $2,250 to burn, then the Official NFL Super Bowl Tailgate party is the choice for you. The party is held at University of Phoenix Stadium, eliminating any need to travel from the party to the game, and will feature all the incredible things you’d expect the Official Super Bowl tailgate to include – gourmet food, top-shelf open bar, appearances by celebrities and NFL Hall of Famers as well as surprise musical performances from some of the industry’s top names.

Oh, and if that’s not enough, portions of the event will be televised. Which means your friends will be able to actually watch you have the time of your life while they shovel out of 30 inches of snow.

Of course, if the small fortune required to attend the Official Super Bowl Party is too much for you, DIRECTV’s Super Sunday Tailgate Party is an excellent alternative – and at a fraction of the cost.

For a just $575, you can attend DIRECTV’s Super Sunday Tailgate, hosted by the beautiful Chrissy Teigen and NFL legend Tony Gonzalez. The event begins at noon on Sunday and will be held at Pendergast Family Farm, across from the Stadium. Like the Official NFL Tailgate, Super Sunday will also feature surprise live performances and an open bar.
