Teenagers Wreaking Havoc At English Golf Course

Teenagers in North Yorkshire, England are being accused of swimming across a river to reach Ingleby Barwick Golf Academy only to set fire to benches, take golf carts out on joyrides and steal golf balls, according to a report by The BBC

At a Stockton City Council meeting, the council was made aware that teenagers — believed to be between 14 and 15 years old — have been swimming across the River Tees from Preston Park to the Ingleby Barwick Golf Academy to wreak havoc on the property.

“They swim across from the park. Some of them have taken their clothes off – it’s not good for the ladies to see,” Director Amy Morgan said. “On a more serious level, there is going to be a child that’s going to drown sooner or later.”

This type of vandalism has become more commonplace around the golf world in recent years. In just the last few months, we’ve seen at least five instances of vandalism take place on golf courses in Maine, Michigan, Florida, New York and Ireland
