It’s every golfer’s dream to have a a practice area in the backyard. What could be better than walking out of your back door and right onto a custom putting green for you and only you to enjoy? Nothing.
Now, we’ve seen some incredible short game areas at the homes of LaDainian Tomlinson and Billy Walters, but none of those comes remotely close to the backyard of golf instructor Dave Pelz.
You may have seen the golf paradise that Pelz calls his backyard, but the video below shows how spectacular the place really is. And if you haven’t seen it, you’re in for a treat.
Located in Dripping Springs, Texas, his golf sanctuary is just steps from the house. It’s everything a golfer could wish for, with greens modeled after some of the most iconic holes in golf.
One green replicates TPC Sawgrass’ 17th and another Augusta National’s par-3 12th. Oh, and don’t forget the 14th at Pebble Beach or the 17th at St. Andrews. They’re all there waiting to be played … just not by you.
Four of the best holes in golf in his backyard — that’s jaw-droppingly awesome. It’s similar to the course at Rory McIlroy’s house, which replicates holes from famed courses such as Congressional and Augusta.
What makes this place even better is the lack of maintenance it requires — and by “lack of” I mean zero maintenance at all. It’s made completely out of SYNLawn golf turf, so it never needs to be cut or watered.
I won’t even venture a guess about how much the place cost Pelz to create … I’ll just continue to be enamored by its beauty.
