Tiger Woods announced some rare positive news via social media on Monday regarding his ongoing rehabilitation to manage prescribed pain medications stemming from his arrest on May 29.
“I recently completed an out of state private intensive program,” stated the 14-time major champion.
“I will continue to tackle this going forward with my doctors, family and friends,” the statement continued. “I am so very thankful for all the support I’ve received.”

Woods’ Memorial Day DUI arrest set off a string of events ultimately concluding with his own admission that he needed to seek “professional help”. However, progress is progress and this certainly appears to be a step forward on his path to recovery.
According to a Golf Channel report, arraignment for Woods’ arrest is scheduled for August 9, but he could qualify for a diversion program in which the DUI charge would be downgraded to reckless driving. That would result in probation and a fine, and his driver’s license would not be suspended.
