Being an unofficial Tour event, stats for the Hero were hard to come by, but the eye test is proving that the difference between Matsuyama in the last three months compared to previous tournaments is the improvement he’s made on the greens. Using a putter that is very similar to the magical flatstick used by the tournament host, Matsuyama was walking in putts all week in the Bahamas.
