Jon Rahm has had quite the successful season in 2019, and next week it’s about to get better as he ties the knot with longtime girlfriend Kelley Cahill at a church in Rahm’s native Spain.
Before he hops on the plane back home, however, Rahm is trying to defend his Hero World Challenge title from a year ago, and he doesn’t expect the wedding to be a big distraction.
“It’s a happy occasion, it’s a joyful occasion, so it’s not like my mind’s going to wander,” Rahm said, according to Golf.com. “I’m focusing on this week, I want to defend and I want to finish the year strong. Nothing better than finishing with three in a row, so my mind’s on this week, so once it’s over I’ll focus on (the wedding). But yeah, I still, every time I go home, there’s some texts and phone calls I need to make after the golf course because there’s some things to tie up and finish up, but when I’m on the course I’m not thinking really about it.”
Rahm announced last year at the PGA Championship that he and his longtime girlfriend Cahill were engaged. Cahill is from Oregon and attended Arizona State University where she met Rahm. While she was there she competed in javelin throwing as well as boxing and tennis.
