Golf is a social sport, and we think it’s fun to share golf experiences; the good, the bad, and the ugly. Partnering with our friends at gottaGolf (The Ball Tracer & Social Golf App), SxS is proud to bring you “Golf Fails brought to you by gottaGolf,” a weekly reminder that golf is… really hard.
The trick shot game is getting younger and younger. Two Northeastern United States golfers decided they should brave some of the nasty “spring” elements and head to a driving range to work on their skills since the weather was kind of cooperating.
With a GoPro attached to one of their heads, the pair started off with an oldie, but a goodie: juggle the ball on a wedge then pass it to a friend to bomb with a driver. When it all comes together, the second part of the shot is all about contact, not direction.
The golfer with the driver wasn’t too concerned about his hips firing through the impact zone or whether or not he dropped his lead shoulder, which results in a pull, but you can bet he will be next time.
The trick shot worked perfectly until the purveyors undoubtedly had a sinking feeling in their stomachs. Shortly after impact, they realized a police car was heading up the adjacent road a speed so perfect, it’s unbelievable.
After a few nervy seconds, the ball that seemed like a homing missile made the sound every golfer who has played near a busy street dreads: the dull thump of a Titleist against the hood of a car.
