Fowler Flips Over Bubba’s Rough Round

After Bubba Watson withdrew from the Arnold Palmer Invitational (finishing a miserable 21 strokes behind Adam Scott in the first round) he sought to unwind with Rickie Fowler and Aaron Baddeley by watching a movie. The film of choice was the critically-acclaimed thriller, Captain Phillips.

Fowler did his best to lighten the mood, trying to explain why Watson had such a bad round.

“I know there’s a big conspiracy on why Bubba Watson shot in the 80’s today,” Fowler said. “He wasn’t on top of his game, but we had something in the works. I told him I’d jump in the lake if he shot in the 80’s.”

True to his word, Fowler did just that.

Watson’s response? “You’re welcome.”

Fowler later tweeted an Instagram video and photo showing the flip in slow-motion and a selfie with his GoPro.

Fowler also tweeted some footage of him having some bonding time with Bubba’s son, Caleb.

“Playing earlier with my boy Caleb #TunnelVision”
